I’ve got a Colt 6920 with the military LE restrictions stamped on the right side; I’ve had it 4 or 5 years. Recently I was talking to an AR “expert” that told me I should leave it in the safe because now with Colt coming out with the M4 stamp with no restrictions that the gun is valuable. I enjoy shooting this weapon and I don’t want to hide it in the safe from myself. Is this gun suddenly so valuable that it shouldn’t be a shooter? I consider it my “go to” AR for the inevitable Zombie attack. |

Quoted: This. They are extremely common as they produced thousands and thousands. Quoted: Quoted: There are so many out there with that marking, I don't see enough of a premium to justify turning it into a safe queen.. This. They are extremely common as they produced thousands and thousands. Agreed. My LE marked Colt is my go to rifle, gets the most trigger time of all (it helps that it has a Geissele SSA installed). That said, there are people out there that will pay big $ for a LE marked lower. I saw them going for $500+ for just the lower, sometimes with no stock or receiver extension tube; and this was NOT during the panic of 2012/2013. I was looking for a second one for my Wife a while back, but refused to pay that premium. I'd rather have the M4A1 marked lower now. Keep shooting it. |

Maybe if it was New in the box, and you had other toys to shoot. But then you'd really want the 6940 marked that way. Kind of like a NIB Polytech Legend. But those are never coming into the country, again.
Well unless the Chinese invade.
Shoot it. I do my LE 6940. |

The 6920 with the LE restriction marking usually do sell a few hundred dollars more. I would sell it for around $1500, and buy a regular new M4 6920 for around $1100.
That’s what I’d do if I were you. Not only I would make a few extra $, but I hate to see those Markings on any of my rifles. It reminds of the dark age of the assault weapon ban 1994-2004. |
