[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel fluting/dimpling ?

I have a new rainier Ultramatch 16" barrel I'm thinking about having a fluting or dimpling service done to. First of all, will this affect barrel performance in any way? Which is better, fluting or dimpling? Pros/cons of each? Who do you guys recommend? I know of ADCO but that's about it.

Another vote for nothing, other than a possible re-profile, if weight savings is what you are after.

I have one on order for my SPR build.

Why the fluting? Just curious. No bashing inbound.

Go ADCO for the re-profiling best bang for the buck for wt reduction.(had both fluting and dimpling done)

Marvin Pitts for dimpling, ADCO for recontouring, and just say no to fluting.
