So, back in January, when everyone was freaking out thinking the government was going to ban assault weapons (not this do-nothing congress) I decided to sell my AR, ammo, accessories. (bags, mags, scopes, stocks, handguards, etc.)
I've waited patiently 9 months, and picked up the same Spikes Tactical mid length ST-15 that I originally sold. Now I'm wondering if I really needed all that crap in the first place. I'm going to keep it simple this time and stick with rifle, bullets and range time. Is there anything I should purchase as a must have? I picked this rifle up for 10% off (see equipment exchange, complete rifles and you will find this deal) and other than ammo, don't want to spend more than $100-150 or so. Suggestions? |

Ammo This, plus a bunch of magazines and spare parts. It nevers hurts to have a few extra spring kits or whole LPK's available along with an extra bolt or two. Maybe even a whole BCG so you can do a quick swap out in the field/range and get back to shooting then diagnose the issue at a more opportune time. My .02 cents |

My .02 cents I know some people like to have spare parts, but I'm not a fan of buying parts unless something is broken. Same goes for my car. |

You can get a ms2 sling for a lot less. I picked up this one and while it absolutely MUST be a knockoff, it is solid and works as it should.
It also came in the mail in a reasonable amount of time and in the right packaging. And its $12 delivered... "Magpul" MS2 Sling |

HEHE I'm a strong believer in buy low sell high. It must have been a tough 9 months so how well did you make out on the whole thing? I added up the cost of everything I purchased and was $200 shy of doubling my money on the sale. Pretty good, considering in that cost were items that were still readily available, like rifle cases, red dot sights, etc. I'm still going to have to be patient and wait for ammo prices to come down. That may be another 3-6 months until retailers actually drop their prices to what I would consider a bargain. (maybe 25-30 cents per round) |

My suggestion is for the future to embrace the words Molan Labe. As for equipment a three point sling makes the rifle extremely easy to deploy. For about $25, I highly recommend them. . |

Of the three - single, two point, and three point, the three point is the least easy to deploy... It has benefits in stability and support, and orienting the weapon while slung - but ease in deploying over the two and three points is definitely not one of them. A nylon guitar strap would be faster to deploy. ~Augee |
