"Chamber pressure" is a little misleading and way over simplified.  Gas system length doesn't affect chamber pressure.  A longer gas tube on a given length of barrel delays unlocking which usually means that chamber pressures are lower when unlocking and extraction take place.  It also reduces dwell time

Interesting asking the question and phrasing it in that manner after a purchase.

Chamber pressure does not change, you are still shooting a 55,000 psi round; it is a lower port pressure.

No real difference. Shoot it and enjoy.

If you don't believe all the hype about reliability...

It's worth it just to have a longer handguard and the bayonet actually fits the lug with the same 16" barrel....

They are exceptional for starting multipage dysfunctional threads....

Longer handguard length for people like me who have long arms.  Other than that not a whole lot of difference.  If you like A front sights handguards are more available for carbine/rifle than mid length gas setups.

Now go shoot the hell out of your rifle for asking that question.

-- Yep.  Love mine, BUT my carbine length had a shaved FSB and a long sight radius too...though now I've moved away from irons at all.

This. OP, did you purposely purchase a mid-length gun or just happen upon one and decide you wanted it? Something had to have peaked your interest prior to deciding you wanted a middy. I'm curious what that was?

Also love my mid-length gas guns, but I love my carbine and rifle length guns just as much.
