Sorry if dupe, but hadn't seen this before:
"Mega includes a notice in the package that they do not recommend using Palmetto State Armory Lower Parts Kits to complete the lowers." Does anyone know why this is? I've built a few lowers now using PSA lpk's and never had an issue, granted if I spend the money on Mega maybe would use something fancier just because. |

I have the answer, stand by.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_179/232392_Mega_billet_ambi_lower_question.html The PSA bolt catch holes are too narrow for our threaded bolt catch pins. There’s are the only ones we have had problems with!

I've had a few PSA parts kits where the bolt catch would not pivot on its roll pin.
The first one I drilled out larger, but then read somewhere about issues with parts kits from Tactical Superiority. They had roll pins that were not the correct size for the bolt catch. So I started pinching them tighter and it worked. Maybe PSA gets these parts from Tactical Superiority? |

I asked this question a couple months ago.
Mega came back and told me it is because of some possible fit issues between mag release I believe. They said something to the effect of some palmetto parts kits are slightly oversized. It didn't sound like a big deal, just one part or so that "might" not fit. Eat- it may have been bolt catch. I will see if I can find my post from before They said: Our threaded bolt catch screws for our billet AMBI lowers, do not fit thru the hole in the "PSA" bolt catch. This was determined from customers returning lowers after encountering the problem, and trying to "fix" the problem with a hammer and punch. Anything threaded does NOT need a hammer and punch. So after a hand full of these, it was determined these bolt catches were from PSA parts kits, so we felt to warn of such problems before the problem arises. The PSA kits work great in our forged line of lowers. Mega Arms |
