This is my first post in regards to my first AR. I've spent hours looking for info to help me and hopefully a forum full of AR enthusiasts and professionals can lead me in the right direction.
I currently have stock folding gas block front sight and fixed rear sight on my EO2,  I wanted folding front and rear so I can mount a scope. I was thinking an average one for starters like a Barska SWAT 4x28 with Troy front and rear folding.
Problem is when I called Troy for some advice ( I'm new at this ) the rep told me to stay away from gas block sight and micro! I took his "professional" advice and now while waiting for my new sights I get an email saying they are currently out of stock
after he told me they had my stuff in stock and would be processed immediately. I may just return both sights upon receiving them and go somewhere else. Would this setup work if I did get folding front gas block sight and folding rear for a scope?
I'll include a link to a pic I found online of one like mine since I don't know how to attach pics. Thanks in advance for any help I can get from you guys because I'm confused here.

Welcome to the site.  If I'm understanding your correctly, you want to slap a Troy front and rear folding sight on...

1.  No need for the folding front sight.  Your RRA already has one that will work fine, and that also serves as your gas block.  If you don't like it, you will have to remove it from the barrel and replace with another gas block.  Barring that, slap a folding rear sight of your favorite flavor on and go shooting.

2.  Scope choice; to be nice, Barska does not have the greatest reputation.  Search for 'Budget 1x4 scopes' and do some reading.  There is some much better glass available for less than $500, and check the Equipment Exchange (EE) here for used optics.

I agree, all you need is a folding rear sight if you plan on mounting a scope and want a backup sight.  I recommend you just shoot the rifle the way it is and learn to use the iron sights.  As long as you mount the rear sight in the same position the rear sight will not loose it's zero.  If you buy a scope take the fixed rear sight off and put it in the range bag.  If something goes wrong with the scope you can then put the iron sight back on.  Most of the one piece scope mounts return to zero for me on my AR-15's as long as I mount them in the same slot on the rail.

On my 22 AR's I switch from scope to red dot sights regularly and have yet to loose my zero.  I have been impressed with Vortex scopes which include their inexpensive line.  The RRA cantilever scope mounts are rugged and are about $60 and will last a life time ( I have 3).
