Im thinking about swapping back to a KISS A2 carbine/middie setup, but want to be able to toss a FF tube on there.
So Im looking for the lightest/thinnest ff tube out there that can take some abuse (the carbon fiber ones don't seem as though they will cut it)

I would lean to the MI SS Gen 2 but the top rail seems pretty pointless on an A2
I like the look of the Hogue but can't find its weight anywhere

Any ideas?

This is what im going for

DCM tube under standard hand guards, not light, but has the right look

This ^^^ was my first thought as well.

Not light, as stated but could be ventilated by a competent smith/machinist similar to a MI SS rail to shed some weight.
Also I recommend squaring up the receiver before installing this NM float tube.
I just did one and it's not concentric with the barrel because I skipped that step.
Need to go back and lap the receiver.

Edit:
The handguard that came with the above kit seemed more like the good stuff (glass filled) than injection molded.
Good price for that kit.

Hogue and DPMS seem to have most of the marketshare when it comes to simple, round float tubes.
