I posted another thread about a dissipator style AR build I did that I want to get a bayonet for. The problem is my M9 handle is too long by about 3". Someone mentioned getting a short handled bayonet, so I started looking around and I don't think there is such a thing. The only thing I found was a picture of a modified M7 on a 10.3" barrel supposedly done by CMMG. I just got off the phone with them and no one there can verify that they ever offered a short handled bayonet -- they know they never made one for sure. So, any one out there have a lead on a short handled bayonet for SBRs and Dissipators?
Thank you. |

If you don't mind the M9 getting cut, take it to a qualified welder, have them cut it down and re-weld (all in the tang area)
to the correct, short length. You may have to get creative with the handle to make it look right but with some time, sandpaper and possibly some epoxy and files, someone with a bit of talent could make it look pretty darn good. |
