Hello all, a real newb here -
After looking for a few months,I finally bought a stag Model 2, picked it up new at a local show last week.
Paid $899, I know its not a deal looknig at prices 6 months ago.  How did I do in todays environment?
Maybe I should have held off? Seems like prices have been coming down lately.
This a great site!
Now for the ammo & mag search!

You did fine and Stag makes a quality product. Factory rifles were still in the 800-1000 range well before last December. Mags are starting to show back up.

Stag is top quality.

"Stag Arms" is Continental Machine Tool Company, Inc's  store front.
They make AR-15 stuff for many other companies.

Slim pickings so far! I live in west burbs of CLE,
100 AE fom Kames in Canton $48
100 Herter brass from Cabela's Columbus $10/20 rd
100 PMC Local Show $12/20 rd

Thanks for the responses, not a whole hell of a lot of places to shoot around me, however an indoor pistol/rifle range will be opening next month, only 10 min. away!
Already thinking about a CMMG 22lr conversion to keep shooting costs down, but 22lr is even scarcer than 223 around me!
