After a little over 3,000 rounds shooting Wolf WPA I had my first issue with the ammo today. Pulled the trigger and it went 'click'. Waited a good 30 seconds and when I tried to pull the charging handle it was stuck...Pulled harder, REALLY stuck. So my buddy and I used some good ol SAPPER ingenuity and got the round out by pounding down on the CH with two 2x4's. Took two good whacks and it ejected. What I found was the bullet was still in the case but the primer was no longer in the casing (example photo below). It appeared that the primer burned, didn't ignite the main powder chage, and 'popped' out the casing. Anyone else ever have this happen with WPA?
Not the actual round but basically what I saw when I got it out of the rife just imagine bullet and powder are still in casing and that its 5.56  :

Meh, I almost exclusively shoot Wolf/Tula/MFS for plinking in my AR's and Glocks. You just have to accept the fact that it's lower quality ammunition and sometimes you'll have some problems.
Never personally had your issue, just mainly failure to extract with the AR, but I wouldn't worry too much. The cost savings (at least what used to be cost savings) is well worth it when compared to plinking with brass cased ammo. |

In 223, ive had pretty great luck with tula and wolf. In 7.62x39, ive had many more rounds that simply wont fire. Hard prmer hit no pop. I simply sports it and move on.
Your scenario is not uncommon, especially with reloaders that reuse brass and the primer pocket gets loose. Clean and move on.... |
