I'm working on a carbine build and wondering which hand guard cap would be best, the round one (not the M4) or the triangle one, the barrel is .625, I plan on use plastic HG, but I will most likely jump around from the MOE to other ones like the Cav arms or CMMG.
Any suggest ends?

Round.

Really, I was thinking I would be better off with the triangle.

It is a middy, I'm just worried that I will not find many plastic HG for it, if I go with the round cap.

Either will work, but if it's a middy then use the triangular cap since that's what most brands use on their middies.

triangle on mid length gas (but you can use round), round on carbine gas because there are virtually no carbine handguards that use a triangle cap (only the triangle style ones from model 1 and PK i think).
