Ok guys I am somewhat new to AR's and am building my second AR. Need some advice on a BCG. I have a few options to me localy and am not sure what would be best. The gun is a spikes lower with a 14.5" carbine cmmg upper. I want something that is going to be reliable and am not worried about spending a little more money for quality, but I really dont know much about the quaility of these BCG's. Based off of cost and quality both, what would you recommend from the below list? Thanks in advance!
Spikes phosphate coated for $300 AR-Stoner Nickel Boron BCG for $300 AR Stoner Ceramic coated for $240 CMMG black phosphate mil-spec for $250 AR15.com with MPI stamped bolt, black phosphate, for $250 |
| You want a BCG that has a shrouded firing pin, preferably a chrome lining and chrome lined key, and at least a full circle tail. It needs to come from a reputable company. Standard phosphate coating is all that you need. From your list, the Spike's BCG is what you want, but think about Bravo Company as well - when they are in stock, they are $75 less than you quote for the Spike's group, and BCM is always good to go. |

I just picked up a WMD Nickel-Boron BCG, pretty slick. Seriously, it's slick as snail snot.
