I'm sending a barrel to Adco to get cut, dimpled, pin muzzle and shave down the front sight post to fit underneath a midwest gen 2 ss rail.  I have to take everything off prior to shipping to save some bucks on the disassembling.  If I remove the pins from the gas block can they be reused.   I plan on using the shaved front sight as my gas block.  The barrel is a 16 " cutting it down to a 14.5 and pinning a surefire muzzle brake on it and dimpling the whole barrel.

Yes, keep the pins and re-use them.

You can shave your FSB with a dremel no problem, and spray some header paint / grill paint / whatever paint on it when you're done to save some cash. I wouldn't pay to pin a 14.5, either.

I think you'll be more satisfied in the long run if you just shave the FSB and put a lightweight rail over it. Dimpling a barrel will cause no noticeable difference in weight, except your wallet.

You do know that once the muzzle device is pinned & welded that you will not be able to install your cut down gass block?  Send the whole thing to Adco and let them take care of everything.
