I was finishing up this 300 blk build and noticed there is a small gap inbetween the flat top receiver and rail. There was a small shim/washer in between the barrel nut and receiver I tightened it down pretty good but the next hole for the gas tube is at 11 o'clock pretty long way from 12. DO I remove the washer or leave the gap. I have a lathe if it needs that as well. Sorry new to building these. TIA

My friend had to really torque his town to get alignment.  Might need to lap the upper receiver.

I will check into it. I would rather turn the inside of the nut some on the lathe. I would thing a spikes upper and a seekins rail would go together???

A small gap is normal. There should've been multiple shims and instructions on how to use them included with the BAR. It's pretty simple, add or remove shims until you're only 1/2 hole away from 12 o'clock when hand tight. Torque to 12 o'clock. Done.

Thanks! Man my spelling has been really bad today LOL. Anywho the guy I bought it from on here probably should have gotten a bad review but I didnt put this together right away. He said he opened it installed it and uninstalled put back in the box and was selling. He forgot to mention he didnt have but only one shim and no instructions. OH and he didnt install one of the set screws right so he smashed one of the gas tube holes. Still works but man is it hard to find honest people nowadays. Thanks for the help guys.
