Looking to buy a AR15.Could someone tell me what are the top ten AR!15. |

It's not really the best market conditions for variety or deals but I will give you my opinion. As this is your first AR I assume it is not for 3 gun or competition. I will operate under the assumption that this is a self defense/SHTF rifle. I would suggest building it yourself so you can completely understand how it goes together and works which gives you a huge advantage if you ever have to fix it in a SHTF situation. But finding parts right now is hard as well as expensive, though it is getting easier with the improving market. I would suggest finding a BCM (bravo company) if you can, they are a great company and stand behind their products. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with BCM. Whatever you do don't compromise on what you want or on quality because you should assume if you decide to sell this rifle after buying it in these conditions you will lose money so you are better off just using this rifle and not looking at it as an investment. Other brands include RRA, CMMG, DPMS, Stag, and POF USA. I would suggest 16 inch free float barrel, collapsible stock, flat top. this allows the most options for customization. Good Luck.

OP deserves all the scorn this thread generates but I do get this question a lot and I understand the rationale behind it. So here is how I break the AR-buying world down:
Q1: I want an AR but I want it to be as close to the military version as possible! A1: You want a Colt, FN, or LMT Q2: I want an AR, but military spec isn't good enough! Money is no object! A2: You want a Noveske or Daniel Defense Q3: I want an AR, but I want value + quality! I'm willing to shop around and even build one if I have to! A3: You want a Spike's or a BCM. DoubleStar (J&T) works here too but they're a little more rare. Q4: I want an AR, but I want to buy off-the shelf! I don't want junk! A4: You want a S&W. Pick the configuration that pleases you and enjoy it for life. These conclusions are based on MY criteria and know-nothing opinions. If you want better answers than that, do your own research. |

This sums it up pretty well except that I would add Larue to the Q2 brands, and PSA to the Q3 brands |

Stag is probably the best bet if you are looking for a great quality commercial grade AR. Stag comes standard with chrome lining and BUIS. You usually pay extra for those features with other manufacturers. Stag is IMHO the best value in the AR world.
If you want a military grade go with Colt, BCM, Spikes, or Daniel Defense. Stag also offers a plus package for a bit more than their standard model which IIRC brings them up to spec. But once you pay that extra bit you are basically in the spikes price range, which coincidentally I feel had the best value of the mil spec manufacturers. If you are looking for a "boutique" shop you could always go with KAC, Noveske, LaRue, White Oak, and I'm sure quite a few others I'm forgetting. |

agree, so many to choose from first I think the op needs to decide what his rifle will be intended for, how often he'll shoot, range etc, and then take it from there Bolded for truth. That is the most important thing. One of the reasons you (the OP) will see that some of us have a lot of ARs....most will serve better for different roles. |

Someone has to ask what the top 10 versions of the same gun is. Just sit back and ask yourself what the scenario means.
Those who dont know anything about AR's are bombarded with so many name brands (otherwise, why ask?).. many of which are just markings on the lower. It is a lower receiver and a collection of parts... Take the finest* AR15 and throw in a crappy part.... it can fail. *finest meaning I have no idea... The ones I put together from random parts seem to work pretty well... The ones made from all colt parts do also. Honestly.. I say buy a lower and put it together yourself. You will know it a little better. |
