I have NO idea what forum to put this in. I'm looking for a good affordable set of muffs to keep in my range/go bag. It'd be nice if I could keep my budget at around $100 give or take, if that isn't possible I can spend more. They must amplify low level volume. I just have no idea where to begin looking.

I recently got the Peltor TacSport muffs to replace my ancient 6S pair.  Love the new muffs!  And, at $115 at Midway, they're priced right.  (The 6S aren't bad, about 25 bucks cheaper.  The TacSport's AutoOff feature is worth the extra money by itself.)

Peltor... they are like $60 and they work extremely well.  I have been using them for awhile and am very happy.  Transitioning to the electronic muffs was a big improvement for me.  It is surprising how you can still sense direction fairly accurately with them on.  I will say that if I bought more they would be the tacsport bc it is frustrating when you leave them on.  I need to replace the battery in the right muff for that very reason.

Howard Leight Impact Sports can be had for around $50. The best bang for your buck in hearing protection by far IMO.

I used a set of these for a few years and really liked them. Using MSA's now but still keep the HL's as a back up.
