I've yet to shoot my AR build since I'm still waiting on a backordered BCG,
I'm looking for accuracy in my build.
I have a S/S Nordic Compensator on the rifle now and have ordered a S/S thread protector. Anyone have any knowledge on how much a Flash Hider/Compensator effect accuracy? |

The comp is designed to assist in stablizing the up/down movement of the barrel after a shot is fired. By directing a portion of the gas upwards, it prevents some muzzle flip. since the bullet does not make contact with the comp, it really does not affect the accuracy in the sense that it extends the barrel, or is rifled.
It does assist in maintaining control of the rifle, which may help in in keeping on target. As soon as the bullet exits the barrel, the level of accuracy is over..... I think..... Jerry |

seems reasonable that it could change the poa
i've read articles where nm shooters suggest certain mods to their flash hider but i don' t remember what they are now. something about if the a2 is too far from the crown that it can cause detrimental affects to the gas flow, also i've heard of people reaming their flash hiders |

I've been a benchrest shooter for years. I hand load ever round for consistency, bullet, powder primer, etc.
I've order a stainless thread protector as well. As soon as I receive my BCG, I'll report back on the 5 shot groups with and without the Nordic Compensator. |

Work up a load that your barrel likes with just the thread protector on.(Hand torqued and loctited) Then try the comp. A lot of barrels are finicky with one type of compensator but not another. If accuracy is your absolute priority, you may go through several types before you find one that hits the sweet spot... Or you may get lucky with the Nordic, they make good stuff. |
