I am in the process of installing a Wilson Combat barrel into my Vltor VIS upper.  I started to slide the barrel into the upper, wow, it is really tight.  Should the barrel slide in fairly easily?  I realize some lube will help but I think it will take some tapping.  Is tapping the barrel with the FH on going to be o.k.?  This is my first time so I apologize if this is a silly question.
Thanks in advance!

Would you rather it be loose?

Freeze the barrel, warm the upper (oven on lowest setting works) lube it up and shove it home.

The VIS tend to run tight, intentionally.

I had read here that the VIS would be tight, this was a bit more than I expected.  Thank you for confirming, I will try the suggestion above.

I have the Noveske version with a FN 14.5 and it also was tight.
