Hi Everyone,
Newbie here. Frequent lurker. Just signed up.
Thinking about buying a friend's Colt AR-15 LE6920. BNIB. He will only charge me what he paid.
It's stamped .556MM.

My question is will it shoot both .223 and 5.56 ammo?
I searched and searched and could not find a thread about this.
Forgive me if it has been discussed.

no it won't shoot .223 safely. You don't want it. Fortunately all I have is 5.56. Have your friend contact me ASAP.

What are the markings on the lower receiver, does it have the LE restricted markings on the right side?

Yes buy it now.

5.56 barrel can shoot 5.56 and .223 but you shouldn't shoot 5.56 in a .223 barrel.

Welcome to Arfcom.

I own an LE6920, and you'll definately be happy with it. I know I am!

FWIW, .223 and 5.56 are basically the same thing. If you decide to throw down the money on the Colt, I'd HIGHLY recommend reading the tech forums here more.

WTFBBQ? How did you do that? Christ, I just said fuck it and paid $1900 for one (most seemed to go for ~$2300-$2400 the last several days) and figured maybe I'd buy another one at $1100 later so cost average.

But I doubted I'd see any at Wal-Mart anytime soon at all.

I will be buying it from him Friday night.
$1197 plus tax from Wal-Mart. I've seen his receipt.

It has no LE markings on the right side of the receiver.

He had to get rid of it. Happy wife=Happy Life.

OP, stop what you are doing and buy it right now. If for some jacked up reason you buy it and don't like it, you could double your money tomorrow given the current market insanity...
