| Hey guys, its pretty tough to get hands on a lower or upper for that matter right now but I have a chance a Spikes lower (brand new) with a spiker parts kit and trigger installed and includes a pmag 30rnd for $350. Anyones thoughts on the price (right now its high i know) and the quality of this lower. |
| I stopped at a store in Jax, FL this weekend. They had Spikes stripped lowers. They had about 10 of them. When I inquired on the price they said $600.00. It is no wonder they had 10! They had a bunch of no name uppers minus BCG, Charging handle and hand guards for $1500. They had about 100 complete AR's. S&W, LWRC, STAG, DPMS with the basic plastic hand guards cheapest was $2600 most expensive was 6500. Prices are crazy. |

Spikes lowers run about 130.00, LPK about 70.00 and mag about 20.00. Wake up man, that's 3 month's ago pricing. What the OP is saying is in fact a great deal. At the funshow this past weekend in Jackson, MS, people were paying up to $500.00 for STRIPPED LOWER RECEIVERS, regardless of maker. If he is wanting 1 and has the $, I suggest he better jump on it while he can. |

Youre looking at about $220 ish retail, like this guy stated, but it could months or more before you find one for that. So is your peace of mind worth $120? |

If you want the Spikes lower, buy it. I've never regretted a gun purchase. I've payed a little more than I've wanted to at times, but still don't regret it. In today's market, that is an ok deal.
Spikes is good to go. They have a great reputation here on the forum and I can attest to their products and service. I've got three of their lowers and a complete upper. |

They ain't perfect.
Have a spikes lower i got a year or two ago. The rear trigger guard holes are drilled about an 1/8-1/16th too far north. Makes fitting any trigger guard other then standard a pain. I had to remove matieral from a plastic magpul guard. The "gap" under the guard tha is usually not there with a magpul guard is now deep and pronounced. Had to go with the tango down grip with the front lip thing gap filler projection. Before you say anything I emailed spikes some pics and they replied with a few differnt forwarded emails that culminated in saying the trigger guard ears were bigger then normal and the holes were dimensionally correct just that the ears were Bigger then normal giving the impression that they were miss drilled. The dial calipers don't lie, the 5 other lowers I have (RRA, 3 colt and a S&W) match up almost perfect with the spikes lower OTHER then the guard roll pin holes. It's really obvious with the modified magpul guard as it sits higher then the ears. Not flush like the others I have. I consider the case closed. I made a trigger guard work, and the TD grip works well. Sure I could have gone with a standard guard and been fine but that's not how these things are supposed to work there is a standard. Spikes has rubbed me the wrong way. They Arn't exactly dead to me but they'd have to have something cheap or special for me to go back to them. With more explination I might have been able to convince them, shown them, tell them I'm not just some ass who bought a stripped lower, that I actually know what I'm talking about. But eh, they were pretty quick to blow me off. My battle trigger is tits though. |

All my rifles are spikes. They are the same as BCM in my opinion, Top notch +1 Spikes makes a SUPERB product. $350 for all of that is pretty dang good considering the climate we are in. I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. ETA: My Spikes middy has been one of the best rifles I've owned. I love that thing. |
| I am fortunate enough to own Noveske, COLT, DD, LMT, and BCM------- the rifle that is out of my safe and I guard the house with,,, is a Spike's.. I was also fortunate enough to get one of the nitrided DD HFB uppers they offered for a short period of time---- super soft shooting and very accurate-- on Spike's lower with ST-T2, DD LPK,, S/T BCG, and ''spider'' Troy folding rear. Keeping this one,, needless to say. |

Link to that story? It's an old and stupid story. FWIW, I've had several Spikes uppers and lowers and all have been perfect. I also own "big name" AR's as well and the spikes are just as dependable and in spec. The Spikes uppers with DD HF barrels are especially nice . So, Spikes Is GTG. |

Spikes lowers run about 130.00, LPK about 70.00 and mag about 20.00. Show me a link where you can get all this in stock for that price. ![]() They where much cheaper than that! The question is why did you wait for another panic. Registered HK sears were $250 at one time, and Twinkies were $2 a box. What was November's market for lowers is about a far from reality as the two examples I listed. The OP is asking if the said lower is at or below market price, and if it is a good product. In today's market, the answer to both of those questions is yes. It doesn't matter why he wants one. He may already have a bunch, and wants one more. Or he may just have had a birthday that makes him eligible. Hell, maybe he's late to the party and realizes he should get one before its too late. |
