Hey guys. My boyfriend, he goes by Roebuck on here, decided to get me into this site and I must say it's pretty damn awesome.
In any case, I need some advice on how to make an AR15 light enough for someone like me. I've shot his AR15 before and I don't have a problem with the recoil or anything else. Just the shear weight of it. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to make it a bit lighter? It's a Colt 6920.

Get a light weight barrel and a carbon fiber free float that will shed lots of weight

AR Parts Weights
Rail Systems Weights

Those are the best two resources I've used to lighten my AR. Barrel profile makes a bigger difference than anything else, followed by a lightweight rail and a lightweight optic. I've also noticed that my rifle "seems" lighter with a VFG, because my support hand is vertical.

It's light, and also very well-balanced. Lightweight stocks really don't help, because the rifle is trying to rotate towards the heavy end. It'll be easier if the rifle is balanced or slightly rear-heavy.

I was thinking a VFG would make it more manageable and lighter for me. He has one for his AR now so I need to go shooting again with it  on and see if that makes a difference.
