My LGS has few of those Anderson Mfg stripped lowers in stock.. They are willing to give it to me for 149.99. I'm not sure if I should pick one up or not. The shop's owner has 2 full built Anderson AR's and said it works just like a good expensive AR. No issues with it.
Anderson Mfg is manufactured in Hebron, Kentucky |

Not worth it. Their lowers are the same as anyone else's, just with ugly engraving. Why spend $150 on those when you can pick up Aero Precision and the like for under $100? Ugly engraving yes. But their fit & finish is just as good or better than most Bushmasters Ive seen. Before all the craziness I could pick up one of their NIB stripped lowers for $79 |

It's *at best* a $79 lower, and you can find Spike's, Aero Precision, Surplus Ammo & Arms, LRB Arms, and others for that price. Why pay that much more for ugly engravings? If you're going to overpay for a stripped lower, at least get one you'll like. And since we're talking about them at the moment: Their receiver extensions are 6061, not 7075. And the selector in an LPK of theirs that I put together SUCKS. I think turning the selector actually takes more force than pulling the trigger on that lower.

Any standard forged lower is worth $50. Period, end of debate.
How do I figure that? Palmetto sold them for that several times, and obviously stayed in business. Tells us all that unless you like spiders, wookies, crosshairs, or even iron crosses, standard forged lowers are worth $50 each. Don't get me wrong; I bought a Spike's Jolly Roger for way, way more than that when they where produced, but that is because I put $<cough> value on some spanky engraving. And until they cheaped out on the zombie lower I would have popped for that too. But the actual functional lower? $50, folks. Having said that, right freaking now that Anderson is a decent price for an in stock lower at your LGS. No shipping, no transfer fee, no wait, in your hands (most states) a few minutes after you give them cash. Yep, SAA or AP backorder is cheaper, and it -may- ship tomorrow (or may ship the Wednesday after the 2016 election). But it won't be in your panic-ey little hands tomorrow, will it? Is it the best choice or quality of engraving? No, I don't think so. But it would be in his hands, in his house, tomorrow. Should he have bought it when someone else did, at $79? No, we all would have been morons because we should have bought the Palmetto at $50. By the gross. But obviously we weren't that smart. OK, you may have been that smart, but I wasn't. Honestly, if you are on AR15.com asking about buying a $150 lower you have a computer, internet service, and enough disposable income to consider buying a EBR right now. Truthfully, if you bought it and nothing came out of Congress about gun control for the next 10 years, at the end of those 10 years could you tell me that you missed those $100 you 'wasted'? |

you won't find anything cheaper than 150 right now unless you want plastic.
