As you can see, a little material has stripped off of the end of my buffer, along with the roll pin coming out. I have pushed it back in a few times, but it keeps wanting to come out. It is a standard carbine buffer (unsure of maker).

What would be a good replacement buffer? The rifle is a 14.5" carbine-length, spikes lower, DTI upper. It is currently ejecting m855 brass to about 1-2 o'clock. As I understand it, that means my rifle could benefit from a heavier buffer, correct? If I still want to shoot m855, m193, and other full powered 5.56 / .223, but occasionally want to reliably cycle some weaker steel case ammo, would an H buffer allow me to do that?

Thanks for your input!

An H buffer will do ya fine.
H2 would most likely be good too

Sounds like a Spike's ST-T2 would do you right.

Spread the roll pin a hair with a small screwdriver, put it back in.

That's what I was thinking. I hear these are good buffers.
