What would cause a small crease in bullet case after ejected? happening to one of my new ARs. Can they still be reloaded?

Thanks

Please show a Detailed photo for us to get a better understanding of what is going on. If the brass is damaged in any way I would recommend against reloading it.

If it is in the case mouth, it is probably from hitting the ejection port.

See if you have brass marks on the top or bottom edge of your ejection port. Have only seen that very few times, usually from a weak ejector spring. Or the extractor is holding onto the brass too long.

It's in the side of the case about half way up

May just be where it is hitting the shell deflector on the upper.

That would most likely be from feeding from the mag. I really wouldn't worry about it. If you lock your carrier to the rear and insert a mag, then hit your bolt release, then extract the loaded round. You will see the scratch on the loaded, unfired case. It is from the round being stripped from the mag/riding across the locking lugs of the barrel extension.
