| hey guys i just bought a colt m4 6920 le. I am really liking the rifle so far but i was wondering your opinions on how good it is for the price, and how it compares with other ar's for the same price. |

I saw one the other night on gunbroker with about 16 hours to go and current bid at 2500.
For that price I'd say it's a little high. But the market is dictating current price. Sadly, the price used to be about 1100. Even at 1100 it's a little steep for some but It is a good weapon. I wouldn't pay 2500 but you see plenty of people scrambling for them now. |

Wow that is crazy, If someone would have went to Walmart and bought about 10 they could have made some serious money That's going on right now, as it always does when gun owners panic. If you want ammo or accessories, wait a few months for things to calm down. BTW, some dealers were selling 6920s for $1,300.00 back in '09. |

They are a good deal. my local Walmart had a few in stock today for $1097, but a shop down the road had them for $1029 when I stopped by this evening. Now that all the panic buyers are broke, the stores are filling back up with goodness... |

I'm thinking about maybe putting some free float rails on it, what are your guys suggestions yep. Thats a 6940 right there more or less. Not exactly, the 6940 is a monolithic upper and only 7" rail I would recommend the centurion c4 fsp rail, it installs with a minimal amount of gun smithing and is a 12" rail. |

You will not experience buyers remorse, nor does the LE 6920 possess magical powers. The Colt LE6920 is the baseline benchmark - the rifle is GTG. Enjoy. |

There are sites out there accepting back orders for "pre-panic" prices. I back ordered one for $995. While there is no guarantee I'll get it if somehow a ban goes through before Armalite can manufacture them. However, before I ordered, I called and was told they had 2,000 coming in the next couple of days. So we'll see. I am making note of sites that have jacked up their prices to unreasonable levels (Impact Guns). I understand raising a bit because of higher demand, paying overtime. etc, but selling for more than double what it was 2 weeks ago is price gouging. Its their right, but they aren't getting any of my business again. That's my right. |

I have an MOE version, and it has been perfect.
Again, the resale will be better than any other just by the name. As I mentioned in another post, a guy brought his in and sold it in a LGS yesterday on consignment for $2400. He set his own price. It did not even make it out of the box before it sold. |

Hell, the LE6920 even comes in a mil-spec bag... http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/RowlandParks/Firearms/011-Copy.jpg That bag is known colloquially among Colt collectors as the "birth bag". The date (Nov 2012) is when that particular rifle was assembled |

Who is selling the 6920 at "pre-panic" prices? I don't mind back ordering or waiting just would like to be on a list. I got my LE 6920 MOE (LE6920MP-B) at Walmart three weeks ago for $997.88 and the non-MOE version was $920-ish. Here locally I have seen no price-gouging, (Pmags $10-20) and while the gun stores are out right now, most expect to have some guns back in this coming week. Walmart showed more Colts in-route, so they should be stocked back up soon. if your local Walmart does not stock it they can check other stores with their handheld Telxon. UPC#009828901943 the website will also allow you to shop different stores to check inventory. |
OMG, Wow!
Someone just placed a high bid on GB for a standard LE6920 carbine for over $3K, the auction will end in about 30 min. My advice to potential buyers is to just wait until the panic buying goes down, and don't pay too much for it. My local gun shop was selling the std LE6920 M4 Carbine marked for $1,100 during the summer and fall, now they raised it slightly to about $1,112, but none in stock right now and what's coming are allocated. I bought my LE6920 last April from my local gun shop with about the same price as Walmart. OP: Try out your new carbine, take it out shooting often and then figure out what needs to be improved on it with your style of shooting. If you shoot with your support arm more forward below the front sight or even further forward then you would need a long rail maybe from 9" to 12" even more if required. I've got a very long good experience with Colt carbines for 27 years and had owned several and currently own 4 carbines, they're very reliable as long as you lube it good, use good ammo and mags. |
