locall ffl dealer has one for sale and really caught my eye, what i noticed very heavy, cheek riser similar to the delta type, right side of the receiver is a slabside, and has a muzzle break simillar lookin to the xm177 style.  i removed it and seems the break slides over the thick hbar when tightening, my question is do these particular models come threaded from the factory?  sorry no pics and serial number noticed 12k range, and to be honest looks new and hardly been shot just by lookin a internals and has a sear block.  he also has a sporte light weight carbine like new and also 12k serial number and seems to have a xm177 style muzzle and is also a slabside and the stock could only adjust to 2 positions.   your suggestins is greatly appreciated as im lookin for my first colt and what an old school original style look

Carbine sounds nice.  Is the stock aluminum? How long is the barrel? 16"!

For the rifle slip over FH isn't Colt IMO.  Pretty sure pre-ban Hbar's were threaded.

Think it all depends on price and what you want.  Most any carbine with aluminum stock is worth an easy $1K especially if pre-ban and not Bubba'd up.  Start talking original box and accessories and price starts climbing.  Rifle prices are gonna vary by geographic region but pre-bans bring a lot more in socialist states than still free states.

the carbine has a polymer stock, and the barrel looks to be 16" maybe a bit longer w/xm177 looking style break.  well tomorrow gonna have both in hand and gonna have to decide.  thanks for the info, but that hbar w/that muzzle still gets me thinkin...oh well tomorrow will decide

oops sorry bout that, this is my first Colt ar type rfle.  its a Sporter Match HBar, judging by how clean it is probably from the 90s, its probably has not been shot that much, and this one is threaded and seen it up close seems to be from the factory.  found in the buttstock still in its original plastic the whole complete cleaning kit

the scope kinda threw me off, when i saw what brand it was initially thought...why would they put
a air rifle scope on the rifle, but lookin closely ranges out to 200y and 300m, and the quality seems pretty good
anybody go any info on this type of scope, kinda unusual

I love your rifle. Really good "poor mans" dmr type rifle, no offense intended of course. I'd buy or reload some loads with heavier bullets and see how it groups. Congrats.

Dude you got a rare scope.  Beeman imported these scopes in the 80s.  The fact you also got the adpator base for the scope. Nice score.

Is that lower drilled for an auto sear witha  block in its place?

No Colt put the block in place to prevent full auto parts, the Lighting Link, and DIAS to be installed in their lowers during the late 80 early 90s.

It is a blind rivet pin. It can come out but you would need someone to fill in the hole in the lower.

OK, thanks.  I thought the pin looked a little big.
