NYS resident shopping for my first AR platform rifle. I'm shocked at the number of manufactures and options!

Thought I'd ask this forum for some feedback. I'm not trying to start discussions on the various Pros/Cons of these features but here is what I think I'd like in my AR;

   Mid-length gas system
   16 inch barrel with Wylde chamber and 1:8 twist
   Recoil compensator
   Relatively light weight - under 8 lbs.
   Mil-Spec standard to allow future options

The Internet is great and I'm SLOWLY wading my way through manufacturer websites researching models and options but there are so many... So the help I need is "What manufactures offer an AR with ALL my features?"

Yes - I can accept a configuration that is not NYS AWB compliant which my favorite gunsmith will alter but would prefer to not travel that path. And No - I don't want to build my own AR from various vendor parts.

At this point it looks like the possibilities are; JP Enterprises, Rock River and S&W.

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks for the feedback.

Showing my inexperience and ignorance. What is the proper definition of "Mil-Spec" as it would relate to an AR design?

What I meant to convey by my use of the term is "parts interchangeability".
For instance, the ability to change grip or forend. Convert to 22LR caliber. Or maybe swap out the trigger. That kind of thing...

Correct me if I am incorrect, but technically speaking, if the ar isn't made by colt, then it truly is not "mil-spec".
