Never used a vertical fore grip not sure if I'm going to like it. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive one I could try that is decent.

Different VFG's lend themselves to different types of gripping styles.  The Magpul RVG is very good if you use the VFG as more of a handstop.  It blends smoothly into the handguard to make a hold like that really comfortable.  Tangodown's offerings are also good for that style.  The $5 grip above has that large blocky mounting area which makes it difficult to use in that fashion.  You're pretty much stuck using it with your thumb wrapped around it all the time.  The KAC style grips kind of split the difference in my experience.  For that reason if you're just experimenting, I'd say try to find a used KAC or knock-off on the EE.  Figure out what kind of hold you're going to use with it, and then look at whether a different VFG might make that hold even more comfortable to use.

I do like these grips, I even run them on my high dollar guns. Comfy and great looks.
