Hello to all. Im new to the site. I recently purchased a new AR 15. It has a 16 inch barrel. I bought a set of MagPul MBUIS flip up sights to put on as its a flattop. I put them on as far apart as I could taking into account the front sight is on the handguard because your advised not to put it on the gas block. When I measured them for sight radius in the flip open position I was getting around 12" of sight radius. So in an attempt to
get more sight radius distance I took the front sight off and reversed it from its normal reccommended mounting direction and that gave me almost 2 more inches of sight radius making it about 14". My question is this: Will this be fine without presenting any problems? I assume the front sight blade would be the same height whether its mounted the right way or reversed. And is there any chance this presents a problem in future? thanks for your help.' Bearbuck |

You will have to endure a constant stream of people telling you your front sight is on backwards so you should run it in the correct orientation from the start That's about the only ill effect. I see plenty of people run the rear backwards for one reason or another. |
