| How important is a perfectly centered primer strike? A new build of mine (bcm bcg and bcm upper) is pretty far off center in my opinion. How concerned should I be? |

Ahhhh, I would expect a 22 rf to be off-center. Actually, it should be hitting the rim of the cartridge since that's where the primer is. Hence the name 'rimfire'. Off center on a a centerfire? If it goes 'BANG' every time I wouldn't sweat it. You read too fast. Op said nothing about rimfire |

I was worried about this with my .22LR upper, but I figured, as long as it fires. Probably good advice here, too. |

Do you have a different BCG you can try? I do not know the answer to your question, but you should test and see if you get a smaller group with a BCG that hits on center. (And post the results here)
If it is off center it means that the primer will not burn from the center outward. That means one side of the powder charge will be ignited first. By the time the bullet leaves the barrel then it might not matter, but it seems like the smallest things can affect the how well the gun shoots. |
