i know this topic has probably been covered a hundred times (sorry guys), but what should i expect for barrel life out of a stainless barrel and a chrome lined barrel?
reason i ask is because i just bought a rainier stainless 1in8 14.5".  i like to think that i would shoot the crap out of this barrel, but realistically i don't think i'll be able to put more than 2k rounds down rage a year.  will this still last me a while?

Figure 7.5-12.5k depending on firing schedule. If you want a close range blaster they group well at 50m all the way past 25,000 rounds.

if its just semi auto use i guess your SS barrel can easily go up to 5k rounds before you can notice any loss in accuracy but it may not be noticeable unless you are really a good shooter.

We have Oly SS barrels with over 15k on them and still produce great groups at 200, 300, and 500 yards.

Here's a good thread worth reading about a test that bigbore from ADCO did with a SS barrel.

If you are really concerned about wear, have it nitro-carburized.  It will last up to twice as long.

This it will make it last and give it corrosion resistance better than just the stainless.
