I was under the impression that Colt haven't made these for some time, replaced by the SP model.

So what's the deal at Walmart, are these the last of some old manufactured LE's or are Colt making them again?

I don't think Colt ever quit making 'em.

I know they had some marked as SPORTER last year, but not too many.  I've never even seen one.

I was at Wal-Mart today and picked up a flyer in the outdoor section. Saw the same thing. Was very surprised to see them carrying a few different AR's. The Colt they offer appears to be the same Sporter model that Bass Pro sells. Wal-Mart has it for $50 less than BP.

The SP line was a brief production run. Now they are all back to LE serial numbers, but they don't have the "Restricted" roll mark

This is my LE6920 2012 current model production markings "M4 CARBINE" and note the LE serial number prefix, these are the same ones sold currently at Walmart (I had played with one at my local Walmart store).

The current LE6920 with M4 Carbine markings looks like this with M4 handguards, detachable carry handle, and Colt-Rogers SuperStoc.

This is my SP6920 "Sporter M4 Carbine" marked, this model was only made for one year only in 2011, early models had M4 carbine buttstocks and later models had the SuperStoc.

Markings of the original LE6920 "Colts Law Enforcement Carbine" they started around the AWB in 1994 and ended in around 2010 to 2011, the last 100 units have a letter from the factory authenticating it as the last batch made.

The original LE69020 Law Enforcement Carbine model had this LE restricted markings on the right side of the magwell.

Current LE M4 Carbine marked, SP series, and limited run LE Law Enforcement Carbine special models (and current all other AR models) does not have this LE restricted markings.

This is the configuration of the original LE6920 Law Enforcement Carbine and early SP6920 Sporter carbines, M4 handguards, detachable carry handle, and M4 buttstock.

They still make the LE6920 with the Law Enforcement Carbine roll markings for law enforcement orders but without the LE restricted markings on the right magwell, some production overruns sometimes shows up in the market.

Alpha-Romeo3, that response would warrant a 25% tip at a restaurant.

Some of the people on this board are highly knowledgeable and very generous with their time.

The one at my local Walmart has the SuperStoc, so relatively recent manufacture then. Think I'll put it on layaway and inform my wife she can make one of the payments as my Christmas present!!

My local Walmart had three 6920s in stock when I stopped in the other day -  and two when I left . Damn it! I need another AR like a hole in the head. Oh well, get 'em while the gettin's good. On a side note, I would describe the fit and finish of the two I handled as "good" to "very good". Rollmarked M4 Carbine with LE serial prefix. Gas key staked.

That is actually a great price for a 6920. They run about $1200 in Las Vegas and our Walmarts dont sell guns anymore. Boo...

Yeah I noticed them in the local Wally World for $1050 a few months back.

Same as my other 6920 but with new rogers stock and no "restricted" marks.

I pickup the flyer up at a Baton Rouge Wal-Mart. However, they don't actually sell firearms at that one. I believe the Walker and Gonzales WM both sell them. If you are interested, you could always call corporate and get them to tell you which store in your area sells the rifle you are looking for.

Thanks.  The MIL lives in French Settlement and sometimes I'm in Gonazales and Walker areas.  Never thought about calling corporate.
