I'm entertaining the idea of picking one of these up. Searched some old threads, but am wondering if anybody else has picked one up. If so, what was your impression? Any complaints?

| I've had one on my 7.62x39 upper for about 6 months now, it's well made and has made a noticeable, but not significant difference in muzzle jump. As others have mentioned, I put loc-tite on all my plugs and haven't had any loosen up so far. i like it better than the A2 birdcage & YHM Phantom I've previously had on it. It is heavy though, almost as heavy as a Levang Linear, not a good choice for a lightweight build. It's not for everyone, but I like mine. |

would grab one if i didn't have to pay a tax on it and get on another list. I never plan on doing anything illegal i just dont want to jump through unnecessary hoops and pay for the privilege to do it. Looks cool though, probably functions great too. Maybe in the future.

OP did you get one? I'm interested in the Effin-A Comp as well and wondering if anyone has more info to chime in with. I ended up skipping over it, regretfully confessing that it was due to the size of it. If they trimmed the fat off and made it a bit slimmer I'd pick one up, but it just doesnt suit me right now |

This is the best video I've seen demonstrating how effective it is. Totally controllable as far as muzzle rise goes, but like I said before, looks did it in for me.

It doesn't really look to be that big. http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server3000/42c33/products/61/images/359/EFFin_A_John_CUDAL__46269.1333576183.1280.1280.jpg I think I can live with that lol. |

That's the best looking setup I've seen with it on. Most barrels I've seen look thinner in comparison with the effin-a on the end. That or I'm going crazy. (I think that with my 9" rail on 16" barrel, that thing on the end of mine would look funky, which may be why I dont like the size )
EDIT: Knowing myself, when I have more money to throw around I'll probably pick one of these up and make a video with it as well. I'm not one to usually let looks overcome mechanics in a build and this looks like one of those most simple, effective pieces you would want to add to an AR |

I havent used one but did you spend the time to adjust it and did you read the instuctions and tips they tell you on how to figure out how to get it tuned propery for you and your gun?? Just saying it will probably take a good hour or two plus a good amount of ammo to get it perfect.. In no way can I see it only being as good as a A2 when even your cheap 25 dollar comps work better then an A2 except for flash suppresion since this isnt meant to be great at flash suppresion.. I bought one too try, and took it off. Put my battle comp back on. Worked about as well as an A2 for me, I wasnt impressed. |

I have it on an M-16 I've just finished putting together. Together with Vltor A5 stock and a midlength upper, it does its job of controlling recoil.
