I was curious if anyone has used or actually has one of these triggers installed. I just picked up a Grendel about a month ago and am wanting to squeeze as much accuracy out of it as possible. I have seen the tricks to work on the stock trigger but honestly would rather drop the money on the Timney. I like the self contained aspect of it and the ease of being able to drop it right in. Also I like a single stage trigger and one that has very little to no creep in it. So do any ARFCOM'ers have any good info on these?

I prefer the cmc trigger for the type of trigger you mention. I also have a friend that has one that is 7 years old and has over 20k rounds on it and it still works flawlessly. The timney is nice kit as well, but that's a hell of a track record and it shoots really well. I can easily hit 8x10 steel at 300 with an eotech and 55 grain ball with that rifle.

At the same time, I think a geissele ssa-e or equivalent would actually be a superior choice in the rifle you describe.

I run 3# skeletonized Timney in my Remington R-15 VTR Pedetor .223 rifle. I have no complaints. It might be just a tad over the advertised 3#, but it has absolutely ZERO creep/take-up, and breaks as clean as any trigger can. Installation is relatively easy. It litterally takes maybe 20 minutes to install. The only tricky part is the second set of 'lock-down' set screws. You gotta move the hammer spring out of the way to get the set screws in. They are well worth the price as far as I'm concened.

I have installed and tested the Timney Competition trigger. It was much better than a standard trigger, but feels cheap compared to the Geissele triggers that I have used (DMR, Hi-Speed, S3G, and SD3G). I recommend spending a little more and getting what I feel is a much better trigger. It sounds like a DMR or Hi-Speed would give you exactly what you seek.

Exactly what I came to post but mine is in a Precision rig.

I've got a 3lb Timney AR15 trigger in my .308 AR, never had a problem with ignition, even on hard DAG primers.  It's crisp and consistent, I ring 10" plates at 500yd consistently.

I have the 3# solid in an AR with a nice 18 in Saber Defense fluted stainless upper.  Love the way it shoots.  Never had an ignition problem, crisp and clean.  As stated above, it takes a few minutes longer to install because of the set screws.  Personaly, when you can get one on sale (like at Midway) I believe it is the best bag for the buck out there.

My shooting buddy has the Timney 3# on his 300 blackout and I like it alot.  Extremely nice break, no creep at all.  I believe they actually break at 3.5# or so.

I use a Timney 3lb in my 3 gun AR. I love it. No pre travel, no post travel, no creep, a very clean break and easy to install. I really like this trigger.

Thank you all for the replies. I believe I will be going this route. Midway has it on sale right for $186.00 so I believe I will be picking this up.

I like mine a lot, however, I have had a few rounds with ignition problems.  Maybe only 2-3, but it has happened.  It's only been with Hornaday Steel Match ammo, so they may be running some hard primers.  All my handloads with Winnchester and CCI primers have been fine.

It's a nice trigger.  I'm not a giant fan of how they mount with the set screws, but I haven't had issues.  I'd like to try a Geisele, since they get such rave reviews.  I might have to get one to see how it stacks against my RRA 2-stage (which is my reigning champ of bargain triggers).
