I use my Rock River varminter in quite a few benchrest varmint matches strictly off a concrete bench.  I am looking for some type of standing screen I can set next to my rifle to stop the brass from striking the person next to me.  I don't like the brass catchers that attach to the rifle - just needing something I can set next to the ejection port that will stop the brass.

Ideas welcome.

Thanks

I read where someone used a laundry basket flipped sideways

I knew a shooter made a portable screen that block everything when he shot at the range back in my home state.

Depending on how big you want it it, you could go buy a screen for a window and make a wooden block to hold it up.

Used to use a 40mm ammo can. We used them to mark the shooter's lanes on our rifle range and also store supplies like hearing protection, score cards, clipboard and eye protection, they make a good pretty decent brass deflector too.

I have used a collapsible laundry hamper with good results.  I would not go with a window screen, because the brass will bounce back and hit you.  Something with slack in the fabric will give enough to stop the cases without bouncing. There's a commercial brass catcher that is essentially a small fishing net on a bench top base...consider making something like that.
