Okay, I'm in a position to get either a new AR 5.56 or AR.308. I've got several
5.56's already and a PTR and FAL but no AR based .308's. I'd need to stock new mags for the .308 but am looking good for the 5.56. Not sure which way to go, any thoughts? And I can't get both  .

Hmmmm, if it was me.... If I could afford a real high end 308 like maybe a larue I'd go that route. Otherwise I'd build a percision rig in 223/556 with an 18 or 20 inch barrel and awesome glass.
I'm trying to stay all 223/556 to avoid different mags and ammo, but I do hear the call of .308 or 300BLK on occasion.

The only two .308 AR's I would be interested in would be either the Colt 901 or the LaRue OBR, otherwise I'll stick with 5.56 rounds and the like.
Ultimately like what has been already been asked, what will you be using it for, is the big question. ..... or an SR-25....
