i have the RRA Elite Operator and am very happy with it as my first AR. I changed the muzzle brake to the levang and much less noise but getting more recoil than i would like. My question is how to reduce the recoil for better follow up shots?
Would post pics if I knew how on here. |
Drill gas ports on the top.
Seriously, don't do that. The Levang compensator directs the gas mostly forwards and slightly outward. There is no gas directed rearwards, so there is no braking action. If you want to reduce the felt recoil of each shot, make the rifle heavier. A vertical foregrip might help, since you will have the recoil distributed more evenly between both arms. The jackass in me is obliged to say that its 5.56-savor what little recoil there is. Sorry, I had to. |

I used a Levang comp for a bit. It was good except for the giant fireball out the front. Everyone loved it but me. For fast double taps nothing beats a can. I bought a YHM Phantom a few years ago and it"s the fastest follow up with no recoil I have found. No more fireball or loud noise. |
