| Should I run away? I'm considering trading my Sig P229 .40 for a complete AR-15. The Ar has a S&W upper and a vulcan lower (forged I believe). I know Vulcan is crap, but can your really fuck up a AR lower? Did they have any problems using lower grade alloys? I do plan on test firing it before I do the trade. |

Run away.
Put an ad up, offering to sell the Sig for a reasonable price. Then put that money toward something not made by a company that has had to change their name 500 times to get away from a stigma of shit quality, each time they tarnish the rep of their current company name. |

You might get lucky, and this Vulcan run ok. I'd follow advice given in previous posts, Hesse has a way of screwing many things up, even tho some run ok. Plus, your P229 is well thought of and carries value (I own'em), the Vulcan will always have low resale value (if any), how Hesse can continually put out crap is hard to explain. Sell the Sig, get an AR that is known to work, not questionable. It'll maybe cost a few $$ outa pocket, but it'll serve you well AND give you better piece of mind. Good luck... Edit to ad––> Several years back, I purchased 6 Vulcan AK receivers, they were SNAFU, took lots of extra work to make work. How Hesse can screw those up so badly? Yes, I'd run from that deal... |
