I recently aquired a BCM 14.5 upper and after outfitting it I attempted to install in on my KAC lower.  I was suprised to find that the rear take down pin would not slide all the way through.  It seemed the interior hole of the upper would not line up up with the lower causing the take down pin to hit the upper portion of the left side of the lower reciver.  I think I could have forced it through with extreme pressure, but did not want to risk damaging my lower.

Assuming the KAC lower was possibly out of spec, I tried slapping it onto a Bushmaster lower and found it too had the same issue.  It wasnt as tight as the KAC and I was able to get it through with pressure, but was so tight I was forced to use a tool to push it back out.

I tried the upper on two other lowers, a Yankee Hill as well as a POF, and found it was the same situation.

My question is are BCM uppers normally this tight, or is this particular one possibly out of spec?  Thanks for any input.

I had a cmmg upper that was tight on a rra lower.  Worked fine on other lowers just not that one.  Could be the upper.

BCM uppers usually arn't that tight. You can either call them, or take a small half round jewelers file and elongate the hole in the upper.

No BCM uppers are not that tight on lowers. I mounted my BCM 16" upper with a Stag lower and a Bushmaster lower.I can push the pins through with no problem, also there is a little play with both of them, normal.
