| Ok, trying to get some info on what exactly an adjustable gas block does and what one would need it for. I have a mp15 optic ready carbine, and I would like to put a ff rail system on it. If the rail will not fit over it, I will replace the gas block. I am also waiting on my stamp for my aac 762 can. Thanks brilliant minds of the hive for some fast tracking on this. |

Allows you to turn down the gas. I had an overgassed 16" Middy with a port too large. I'm using the Syrac Ordinance block, it has a detent to lock the adjustment screw in place. Works great, much less gas and recoil...smoothed out the gun a lot.
If you're looking use a suppressor...they add a lot of backpressure and being able to turn down the gas would be nice. |

Thank you, yes when shooting suppressed you do get that blow back of gas, so you can tune it down to cut some of it out. Sounds good I think I'm going to have to get one. The search begins... Check out the Seeking Low Pro Adjustable Gas block. Rainier has them at a very competitive price. |

I'm a little late to this thread. If you're still in the the market for a gas block check out the SLR rifleworks DA-7 adjustable gas block. It adjusts from the front with a single tool. No trying to push in on a button while turning the adjustment screw like some of the other designs. The adjustment screw uses a detent so you don't have to worry about the gas setting changing unless you want it to. I've put over 1k rounds through it and love it so far. Here's a link to the gas block.
