I guess I need to decide on length first. I'm thinking 18" or 20". Its going to be for a DMR type build. It's probably going to end up wearing a 4x ACOG and spend most of its life taking shots from 100-500 yd. I don't want anything too heavy, but it needs to have some accuracy. I am on a budget, so nothing extravagant. This will be my first AR build so any help is appreciated. I'm from the AK building world where the barrel selection is pretty limited, and here I have a whole lot more choices. Any suggestions? It doesn't necessarily have to be in-stock so long as it can be back ordered within a few weeks. |

Probably $300 max, but I'd rather keep it lower. If I can get ~1moa out of a cheaper barrel, I'd rather spend the money else where. Is that a reasonable budget? I'm still in the early stages of planning; all I have so far is the stripped lower so I can reallocate funds if I NEED a bigger barrel budget. I have most of the rest of the build picked out. |
