First post, so hello all!
Been ghosting for a while now soaking up info. Here's the deal. I've had a Bushmaster post ban model for nearly 12 years now. At the time I bought it, honestly didn't really know what I was buying. Was totally ignorant on the AR platform at the time. Started doing a lot more research recently. Just got the bug to really re-examine my AR platform. I wanted to upgrade the Bushmaster with a new barrel and furniture. A few other small tweaks as well. After adding it up, I found I was already halfway into a Colt. In talking with and working a deal with my local gun dealer, we're just gonna try to flip the Bushy into a Colt. Should take care of the remainder of what I would owe. I ordered a Colt LE6920MP-OD after a good bit of research. Seems to be GTG. Think I've made a good choice rolling the Bushmaster into this. This Colt is exactly what I was looking for right down to the OD furniture. Should arrive early next week. Have I done okay in my choice? http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR7L3AlQ4-k8PKkTKyqi6JkR5Vsdz55vqx05Ev_-umOzD_HMZMO |

To be honest, I don't see where you are gaining ANY real functional advantage in switching from Bushy to Colt. I don't know how your bushy is set up but even if you currently have a 20" heavy barrel and you want to go to a 14.5" LW barrel you would still be better off just doing a barrel swap and furniture upgrade.
If getting the Colt makes you happy go for it but if your current Bushy shoots fine then I would just keep it as is or make smart upgrades that actually give you a functional difference selectively as needed. |

You could've bought a new complete Colt upper with MOE furnature and still had plenty left over for a 1,000 rounds of ammo for what I am sure a LE6920MP-OD cost. At least $1,100 right? You would be stuck with the rattle snake instead of the horse on the side though... But you do have two complete AR's now, that is never a bad thing. |
