Quoted: I need a new charging handle on my M4. Are these worth the money or not? Yes, I believe they are. This particular charging handle takes the stress off the roll pin where it is most prone to break and redirects it to the body of the charging handle. This is ideal if you use your charging handle with the support hand only. The latch sizes that BCM offers covers just about any users need. They hit a home run with this. |

Back a ways, I was asking myself the same question. I already had the standard AR charging handles, but never had a "problem" with them (except for bending one nearly in half by tripping while one-handing charging).
And geez...they're over $40 for a charging handle... Recently I placed an order for a couple of BCM BCGs and figured I'd try one out and break even on the shipping charges. Well, I'm a believer now. The above poster had it correct, it just seems so much easier to charge the gun with either hand (I'm a righty). Rolling the rifle and charging with the right hand when shooting "weak side" is easy. Or even just reaching up with the left and charging when weak side. And it's damned solid too. |
| I just bought my first one a few days ago. I bought the medium sized handle because I was at RifleGears storefront and that is the only size they stock. I like it a lot for one handed charging but I want the bigger handle so I'm going to order another one or two for other rifles I have. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and would suggest it. Especially since I've tweaked a handle before and rendered it useless so I really like the beefiness of them. |
| I like mine, but I wouldn't go changing every one of my ARs to one. New builds, I definitely make sure to get one. The exception would be a scoped rifle, where the scope has to sit pretty low and far back. They make a world, of a normal world, of difference in that case. |

They are great! No way in hell I would pay $40.00 for one. Just wait for someone to have a sale on them and then buy. Thast's what I did. Got mine for $35.99 shipped from Primary Arms when they had a sale on them. Can't beat that.
Edit: I was wrong on cost...just went and checked bank statement |

Got mine for $28.00 shipped from Primary Arms when they had a sale on them. Can't beat that. I think this is the first time I've ever heard of them being on sale...that is short of using a discount/coupon code online. I have seen prices for them all over the board though. Hell, one of my local gun shops sells them for $64.95...and can't keep them in stock! I LOVE mine, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay $65 for it! |

I have seen Primary Arms have sales on them, and a few other things for good prices. But not that good. Plus, they usually limit you to 1 on their sale stuff. |

I was wrong on the cost when originally posted. Just checked....it was $35.99 shipped, and yes it was limit 1 per customer. I got it whenthey had the St. Patrick's Day sale. |

I need a new charging handle on my M4. Are these worth the money or not? I think so, only because I find it aesthetically pleasing, it performs just as good as a standard charging handle. I don't run optics or have a lot of shit hanging off my AR and I don't do crazy drills or carbine courses, I just like the the way it looks and it chambers a round into my AR. |

Man, I knew people liked these but didn't think the thread would be so one sided. Heading to my LGS today for some stuff and will see if they have one to toss in the bag. That's because its one of those few items that are truly a GREAT product...NOT a gimmick. |
