I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am not new to the AR world, but just stumbled on these forums again today and decided to the time to really look around. I have a 16" BCM mid length BFH, Magpul grip & handguard, SOPMOD stock, Troy BUIS, T-1 Micro on Larue mount, Surefire X300 on a Mossy mount. I also added a BAD-CASS ambi and a BattleComp 1.0. This forum seems a little bettered mannered than some other places I have visited, so I hope to stick around and take advantage of the info found here. http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/2916/20120606201144890croppe.jpg http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/5402/20120606200752848.jpg |

Quoted: Welcome; don't forget to check out the Carolina's section in the home town forums. 2 quick questions... Why BCM? What part of SC? -David I can answer the first question, they're top quality at good prices. Speaking personally, I have Colt and BCM. I wouldn't mind LaRue or KAC, either. |

2 answers: 1 - I consider BCM a top-tier weapon and it is my primary HD/SHTF weapon, followed by a Benelli Tactical and a 92F. 2 - Fort Mill, distant suburb of Charlotte. Thanks for the heads up on the Carolinas section. I will definitely look that up. How about yourself? I owned a Colt in a past life and would take another any day. They make awesome rifles as well. I am with you on the KAC. I am eyeballing one at the moment, but I don't seem to have the full support of the SWMBO. |

Quoted: How's the Battle Comp when you shoot? Make a difference? Is it obnoxious? Actually, it is not much different from the birdcage in terms of sound levels, at least as far has my perception goes. I have been shooting a lot of years and don't give the sound much consideration as long as I have decent hearing protection. I have not compared them without muffs though. As far as muzzle control, I don't think you will find a better comp that can still maintain flash suppression equal to or better than the birdcage. Very reasonable in terms of price too. I have corresponded quite a few times with Alan at BattleComp. I will have to say that he is super helpful and an all around great guy. He and his business partner really know their stuff, so I will support them every chance I get. Also, thanks for the warm welcome and compliments to everyone who has posted. I can't seem to find the multi-quote button, else I wouldn't have made this so generic. |

My SWMBO is pushing me to take her to Charleston this summer, so I might just do that. Welcome man... I feel like I have sent them so much money, they should be sending me a profit sharing check every year. |
