Hey guys - I've spent some time browsing threads and searching and have a few questions.

I recently purchased a Colt LE6920 for general range use.  I'm looking for a few add-ons.

1) Can you guys help me decide on a new pistol grip?  I like the Magpul stuff, but can't figure out which grip is best.

2) I'm looking for a magazine well vice block.  I may not have nailed the official name, but I'm looking for something I can secure in a vice that will hold my lower in place via the magazine well.  I've read that certain vice blocks only work with certain brand lowers.  Point me in the right direction here.

3) I'm looking for a chest rig, too.  I'd like it to hold AR and pistol mags.  It will primarily be for range use, but I may dabble in some three gun at some point in the future.

Thanks guys!

Have you heard of GOOGLE..It's a new fad that helps you find information.

How can we decide on what fits you for a pistol grip?? Maybe you need to go to a store..and try a few..

Mag well block....Brownells...

Chest rig at the range??? LMFAO...

Thanks.  I hadn't thought of google.

To clarify, I meant action rifle shooting at the range v. home defense, SHTF, LEO, etc.

Anybody else?

Good grief... Way to make someone new to the forum feel welcome. Sure Google is a good option if you know what you are looking for but people come here to get opinions from enthusiast that have experience. At least recommend using the search function instead of directing people away from this site.

1. Yes, it will depend on what feels right to you. I went with the Hogue. Many don't like the finger grooves but I did. Magpul makes a couple of good options as well. Search this site for grips and you'll see some new entries to the market too.

2. Mag well block. Also try the Equipment Exchange on this site. Orange button up to the right of your screen.

3. I don't have a recommendation but others that compete may.

Welcome to the forum. Great choice on your first AR. Enjoy it.

I am a huge fan of the Moe + grip. The rubber texture helps when my hands get sweaty at the range.

Patrick,
Welcome to the forums!
Glad you were able to make your purchase.  I have been looking for an AR on and off for a while but only seriously started spending ALL my waking moments reading and learning all I can about them.
If you have any buddies that have ARs see if they have any setups you like.  Be sure to ask them WHY they like what they have.  You may find that they like something for the LOOK, the intended PURPOSE, or just for COST.  There are many other things that may come into their minds.  In answer to your questions....
1)  I would suggest going to a gun shop that carries accessories (they all should)...and try out  a few.  Who knows the shop owner may have your exact rifle with something you like on it.

Try attending a local gun show.  I was at the Denver Gun Show this past weekend and got some new insights on things I might like.  I also ruled out some things that I "Thought" I would like and now they are off the consideration list.

See if there are any FFLs in your area that sell on gunbroker or otherwise.  I spent three hours with a FFL that lives 15 min from the house that I had no idea existed.  He is a GREAT guy and took the time to show me many rifles, I ended up purchasing a Plano 36" case from him that was EXACTLY what I was looking for without the Pelican price!!
Bottom line it will come down to what feels right to you!

2)  I can picture what you are talking about I think but have no honest answer for you...sorry.
3)  Check out some websites that have these things....cheaper than dirt is one that you may like....look in the Equipment Exchange (many sections and you might find a great deal there).  One guy that does some pretty cool videos IMO goes by the name Nutnfancy.  I personally enjoy his reviews and enjoy his channel.  Here is a link to something that might help narrow your search.....

NOTE:  I was a moderator on a site for over a year and a half.  It
really does PISS me off when folks jump in and tell someone to use
google.  I know it can get old to have the same questions over and over
again but IMO we are all part of the same community and try to help one
another.  TBH the search function is hard if you are not a member....I
upgraded just for that functionality and because I plan on being here a
long time and feel my funds will help the site.  Google goes only so far
and some folks are not completely familiar with all the functions on
it....when I first started I did not but over time I learned.  Finally
there are many GREAT people here that will give you TONS of information
and assist you.  I have spoken via the phone with two folks on here in
my VERY limited time on this site and they have been simply WONDERFUL in
helping me with my NOOB questions!
Welcome to  your new addiction and glad to have you on board!

You'll have to figure out the grip yourself....that's a personal thing.
Go try them out at a gun show or LGS.

The mag well block can be had at Brownells (choose the Sinclair) or at ADCO.
Don't use it for any serious wrenching such as rail installs, barrel nuts, muzzle devices etc.
They're mainly for working on sights, cleaning.....light work, etc.

For serious torquing there are other types of appliances to use.

The LaRue A-PEG grip is AMAZING !!  You will love it.

Brownells for the vice block.

Chest rigs are person specific....you might have to try a few out before you find one you like and works for your specific needs.

Order your grip direct from LaRue, that way when you order your free float rail from them, you will already know what a great company they are.  You can thank me later.  Enjoy!
