Hey guys,
I have a question about an A2 stock on an old Bushmaster AR15.  I want to replace the stock (and tube) with a collapsable stock but noticed the tube size was slightly smaller than mil spec.  Any suggestions or solutions on how to get that changed?  Thanks!
I understand I need to replace the tube, but my understanding is that the threaded hole in the lower is either mil spec or commercial.  When measuring the old tube, it measures between 1/16&1/8th smaller than mil.  I just wasn't sure which size tube to replace it with.

You need to remove the fixed stock's buffer tube and install a collapsible stock buffer tube.

Huh ?

You will have to replace the entire system.
The A2 stock, tube, spring and buffer represent the rifle buttstock system. Nothing interchanges with the carbine buttstock system.

Just purchase a quality, carbine stock kit from Palmetto State Armory or DSG Arms and you will get everything needed to convert.
If given a choice, get the mil spec over the commercial version.
