Whats the lightest you can build with a 16" barrel and normal lower not plastic

I was thinking all magpul moe stuff

Barrel feather weight or fluted?

I'm going to guess right around 5 lbs, but not with MOE stuff.  Clark carbon fiber handguard, CAR stock, featherweight barrel.

with moe furniture and fixed rear sight. the lightest you'll get is around 6lbs 3oz without a mag, (maybe an ounce or so lighter depending on the flash hider), with mid gas and fixed front sight post.
That weight by the way feels awesome in hand, though a 14.5" feels even better.

currently a pinned 14.5" lw profile mid barrel, i got it down to 6lbs with a vltor imod on it. as well as a flashlight mount. Ive build a few using exactly what you mentioned above and that's the weight you'll be looking at without going to carbon fiber and plastic and ditching the forward assist and shell deflector. and staying with moe furniture.  It is a good package setup that way even with a 16" barrel.

NOT MINE.

But this is the lightest non polymer receiver AR I can remember seeing. Looks awesome.

Yea i just re did one of mine with all moe stuff
Took off the omega rail and e mod stock
It feels lighter than it did before but the scale shows only a little change

I may turn down my barrel from the gas block back to a lw profile

A standard cheap lightweight 16" CAR build will be very light. Or my favorite is the Colt SP1 carbine which is very light and handy.
