Hello, I am new to this forum. I hope I posted this in the right place. I have a Colt AR A2 Pre Ban Goverment Model. It is in like new condition. Just trying to get an idea of what this gun would be worth in the condition that I mentioned. I have the two original colt magazines, and the original muzzle cover that came on the gun when it was new. The serial number GS007xx4. Can anyone help in telling when it might have been made also. I has been shot a very few times. This gun is just about as new as it could be.

Pull the plastic hand guards and it will have the year stamped on side of barrel closer to the receiver. That sounds like an amazing gun, Im currently looking into sticking a goverment model barrel and FSP on my Colt Match target comp. Its a 1996 Bill Clinton neutered rifle with no flash hider or bayo lug so it will look just like yours.

| According to this, serial number GS007xx4 indicate it’s a Model # R6550, the last of the "green label" AR-15 A2 before the introduction of the "blue label" Sporter line. made from 1988-1990; most likely 1990. |
