| I have an M & A brand, 24-inch, stainless-steel barreled upper. A month ago, I wanted to remove the oiriginal top-railed gas block and replace it with a new DPMS gas block in .936 diameter. The DPMS gas block didn't line up fully and the entire rifle was under powered and wouldn't even eject a single round fired. So I replaced it with the original gas block and I just test fired the rifle this afternoon. Now, it seems to be getting too much gas in that it is bump firing 2 to 3 rounds at a single trigger pull. What do I do now ? Bring it to a Gunsmith? Tear it apart and start from scratch? Thank you. |

If not sometimes I leave a business card GAP behind the block. As far as the Doubling goes I don't think that has to do with the upper. Sometimes if the Disconnector spring is upside down it will double. Just a guess. Good luck, and yes a smith might help out here. Better than the cops showing up. ha |
Damn...M&A
Sounds like they screwed up the gas block and the fire control group. Apparently they don't test fire over there at M&A 1. Return it for a full refund 2. Send it back for repair....not sure that's a good idea 3. Find a Black Rifle smith and let him fix it. A Black Rifle smith only or you'll be back here with more problems. |
| AMUshooter10: Thank you for the help. You were dead-on correct in your assessment of my problem. The disconnector spring is wedged solid in the down postion on the disconnector itself. Later I intend to pull the trigger group and try a brand new spring, Plus I am going to measure the width of the trigger itself, to make sure the new spring will fit correctly. Thank you, again.
