Does anyone know anything about core 15 rifles? A local gun shop has a few in stock and they seem to have most of the qualities I've read to look for (M4 feed ramps, chrome lined barrel, etc).

They get their parts from the same place that all the other AR assemblers do. We have sold several of them at the gun shop I work at and no one has brought them back for failure to function. Plenty good for self defense, target, and hunting if you ask me. However, they are certainly different from the obvious upper tier rifles. They are a great value for the money if they meet the needs you have. |

What does a $1000 Core-15 rifle do that a proven Colt 6920 doesn't do, for the same price? ![]() Not everyone wants the little prancing pony. Core-15, if I remember corect machines all their own uppers and lowers(I'm not saying Colt doesn't), don't quote me on that. Just give them a call and see what they have to say. They are a fairly new company out of Ocala, FL. |

That claimed weight of 5.2lb unloaded on their website is BS. 4140 barrels on a $1k+ MOE rifle? Why would you buy this when you can build your own MOE lower and get a complete BCM upper half for less money? Any PSA carbine build is better value than this. I'm sure they're perfectly reliable rifles and they stand behind their builds, but this is a very competitive market with many other rifles out there that is money better spent. Colt gets you alot more than just a prancing horse... |

Colt gets you alot more than just a prancing horse... I never said they were not good or anything....I just said some of us may not want a Colt, regardless of how much praise they get. And maybe the Core 15 does weight 5.2lbs unloaded. How would you know? Have you ever even held one or seen one in person? I'm not praising Core 15, but don't claim BS on something if you have never even held one. I do agree that $1000.00 is a little steep for that gun, unless there is more to it than we know. Found this online(just so OP has a little more insight) http://www.core15.com/images/article-photos/gun-test/GW72CORE15M4%20.pdf |
